Pakistan Disaster Relief:

The recent record-breaking rains in Pakistan have caused massive human casualty and loss of crops and livestock. The UN reports that at least 1,600 Pakistani people have died and nearly 14 million have been affected by the “worst monsoon-related floods in living memory,” which have engulfed entire towns. EMCC is partnering with SIM Canada to respond to this situation by distributing emergency relief supplies and working with communities in the longer term to assist with poverty alleviation.  All donations made between August 2 and September 12, will be matched by the Canadian government through its Pakistan Floods Relief Fund.  To donate online please go to www.emcc.ca and indicate that your donation is for R&D 109 – Pakistan Relief.  Donations by cheque should be made payable to EMCC and sent to: EMCC, 214 Highland Rd E, Kitchener, ON N2M 3W2. Women at the Well

An Evening Bible Study for Women of all Ages!

What:  This year we will be studying the Life of David from 1st and 2nd Samuel, 1 Chronicles and the Psalms where his story is found. Although David was a remarkable leader, his life was, at times, marred by sin and inconsistency.  And yet, he is described in Acts 13:22 this way: "After removing Saul, he made David their King.  He testified concerning him: I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do."  How did David live such a life and how can we be like him?  As we study this year, we will see how God used the choices and crises of David's life to transform his character and shape him into the person God wanted him to be. And as we look at his life, and come face to face with this amazing man from the Bible, we will also come face to face with who we are.  But even more importantly, we will encounter God in a fresh way and by His grace be transformed into the women He would have us be - women with hearts like His!

When: Monday nights commencing September 20, from 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Where: Fellowship Hall

Please Bring: A Bible, a notebook, a pen and a coffee mug

Contact: Martha Dodd at 905-640-9033 or martha_dodd@hotmail.com

Men’s Fraternity

WHAT IS MEN’S FRATERNITY?

Men's Fraternity was created by Robert Lewis, pastor-at-large of Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, Arkansas and author of Raising a Modern Day Knight. It began in 1990 with 30 participants as Robert strived to connect with and challenge the men of his church. Over the years it has developed into a series of studies designed to engage the heart as well as the mind, stripping away the myths of manhood, and focusing on how each individual can be transformed into a true man of God. Now, more than 15,000 groups of men attend a weekly Men's Fraternity meeting globally.

WHEN AND WHERE?

Wednesday’s begin September 22nd for 12 sessions

6:00 – 7:30 am Series One – The Quest for Authentic Manhood

7:00 – 8:30 pm Series Two – Winning at Work and Home

Cost for workbook: $20

WHO ATTENDS MEN’S FRATERNITY?

Men like you; men that want to contribute more towards their relationships with their families, co-workers, friends and community. Men wishing to become better examples of an authentic man as modeled by Jesus Christ.
