Information Update

 

Remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed this Saturday,
March 13 for the beginning of Daylight Savings Time.

 

There is to be a baptism service on April 5.  Anyone interested in taking this step in their walk should speak to Pastor Tim or Pastor Scott.

 

At the annual meeting of members on Sunday, February 28, the elder nominee received at least a 75% ratification vote by the attending members, as required in EastRidge By-law #7.03.  The EPT welcomes Rod Anderson to the team. Our thanks to Bill Clubine and Calvin Rae for their commitment and dedication to the EPT in the completion of their 3-year terms of ministry.   The steward nominees received the ratification vote required by the attending members.  We appreciate the willingness of the following stewards to serve for another term:  Morgan Baker (2-year term); Diane Batty (1-year term); Dave Raymer (3-year term); Ken Simpson (2-year term).

 

Our Daily Bread regular print for March, April and May, as well as the large print for April, May and June, are available on the information shelves for a $1 donation.

 

EMCC’s Response to Crisis in Haiti

To date, EMCC has received $120,000 for emergency relief in Haiti as well as an additional $63,000 for the Yvonne Martin Memorial Fund.  EMCC is working with Canadian Foodgrains Bank to provide food for as many Haitians as possible for the next six months as well as to provide seed and tools in time for the next rainy season.  They will work with World Relief Canada if money is needed for medical aid or shelter.  In cooperation with our sister denomination in Haiti, they are assessing how to best respond as far as hands-on assistance with reconstruction efforts.  Anyone gifted in intercessory prayer who would like to lead a one-year prayer ministry for Haiti should contact Lou Geense, Director of Global Initiatives, at lgeense@emcc.ca.  A copy of the entire update is posted on the south hall bulletin board.

An Evening of Photography and Story Telling

Benjamin “Benji” J. Myers is a freelance photographer based in Washington D.C. with works published in several notable publications.  Having just returned from a second tour in Haiti after the devastating earthquake, Benji would like to share his experiences and photographs as well as the importance of living your faith in whatever industry/profession you choose.

We are also in the final stages of arranging an appearance from Jacob Moon.
Tickets will be $10 with all proceeds going to support Haiti relief.  For more information see Pastor Scott.

Manitoba Mission Trip 2010
August 8 to 14
Partnering with Rick and Liz Greer of Pathway Camp Ministries, we are looking to send a team of 7 (Grade 11 and up) to Garden Hill Manitoba for a week of day camp programming.  This is an exciting opportunity to serve God through a short term mission.   For more information, please contact Pastor Scott at youth@eastridge.ca or ext. 22.
